Artist Coleman Stevenson and I had long dreamt of collaborating on a mystical, moody cocktail party at which guests could have their tarot fortunes told and enjoy some after-hours conversation by gothic candlelight. We designed a magical evening by teaming up with some of our favorite friends and vendors in town and throwing a big bash to celebrate the launch of a The Dark Exact's new tarot deck.
We created cocktails based on classic tarot characters using infusions of teas from the Jasmine Pearl Tea Company. Guests made merry all night and had readings from local divination artist Stephanie Adams-Santos. It was a perfectly witchy evening, and we're happy to share our tarot cocktail recipe with you today!
The most elegant of green teas serves as the foundation of self control in this smooth, grassy, well-balanced cocktail. A hint of spice acts as a nod of urgency to seek the celestial.
Infuse tea into gin. Let it sit for two hours at room temperature, stirring occasionally. Strain out the tea. The gin should be a beautiful grassy green color.
Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir gently for one minute. Strain into coupe glass and garnish.
